The development of attitudes and behavior patterns in dress and grooming should be part of each student's total educational experience. A student's attire has a strong influence on his/her attitude as well as how much he or she learns. The school dress code helps to insure that our students will be dressed in such a way as to contribute to their success and help generate a positive learning environment throughout our school.
Parents are responsible to ensure that students are dressed in a manner suitable for a Catholic school student. Students are expected to be in clean, complete uniform at all times; this includes belts (black, blue or brown) and appropriate shoes and socks. Students may wear predominately white, black, black and white or red tennis shoes and/or regular type school shoes. Shoes may not have "patterns" of any kind, no high top tennis shoes, and no wheels on shoes are permitted. All shoes with laces must be tied. No sandals, high heels, boots or high-tops may be worn. NO SPORT SOCKS may be worn; socks must come above the student's ankle bone. Girls may wear white knee socks. In cold weather, only navy blue or white tights may be worn under the uniform.
Uniforms must be purchased through Dennis Uniform Co. or Holy Redeemer School (Dockers or Dickie's do not meet the uniform standards and are not allowed,)
Jewelry is not allowed other than a chain with a cross or religious medal. Earrings (girls only) must be studs only, no loops or dangling styles. Earrings are to be worn on lobe only. Multiple earrings are not acceptable at school.
Make-up or nail polish is never allowed, as well as coloring or tinting of hair. Hairpieces of any kind are not permitted.
